Nail art for 2023 was Ombre, Marble and Chroming being just some of the trends of the past year.
Ombré
Marble
Firstly, let’s focus on the biggest of this year, chroming. It’s on every YouTube channel, It’s on every Instagram page. Predictably, doing the nail professional duty we have a few colours to test. Starting with silver and unicorn then moving onto rose gold, gold and black!
Chrome
Lecenté nail art products are a giant in the nail art game. Subsequently, their products are professionally led, fun and effective. The Lecenté chrome powder looks like fine glitter that we normally use for making custom blend acrylics or gels.
After watching many tutorials on how to properly apply the powder, then testing a few combinations of routes. The look was eventually achieved with both colour options.
The shine and the intriguing way the powder particles join is fascinating. The powder manages to link together to make a sheet of mirror. The base colour does play a huge role in the end look, keep this in mind when planning your look.
Most techniques require practice makes perfect and this was no exception, the best results came from:-
- Usual PEP
- Gel base coat
- 2 gel colour coats (Which was Black Pool by CND Shellac)
- No wipe off gel topcoat
- Apply the powder in a burnishing technique with an eyeshadow applicator
- Repeat last 2 steps if the full chrome effect needed a little booster
Finally, not all nail art trends are worth the investment but nail art for 2023 is! Enjoying the creation in addition to putting a smile on client’s faces is the main goal. The finish you get with chrome powder cannot be immolated with any polish currently on the market. With that said, hunting down more chrome effect colours is top of the list.
