Nearly every day picking up the phone, opening the Instagram app, mindless scrolling through a slew of nail posts, double tapping on anything the eyes find appealing all the while feeling inferior and depleted. This constant exploration into other people’s lives and careers seems to cause dissatisfaction in our own.

  • Is it a platform to show off how amazing we are from the outside?
  • Is anything as good as it seems on social media?

Additionally, there are now workshops, seminars, webinars and workbooks for strategies to get likes!! We are under the impression that we need likes, followers and the right hash tags. In addition to the minefield of having someone we look up to, like our pictures, is it the correct time of day to post? A continuous push to be better in the world of social media.

Then the bigger questions come, like:-

After a long hard internal conversation, we must remember… Instagram induced career envy is based around fear. Fear controls how our careers evolve but fortune favours the bold.
